What is your Personal Legend?

"The boy didn't know what a person's "Personal Legend" was.

"It's what you have always wanted to accomplish. Everyone, when they are young, knows what their Personal Legend is. At some point in their lives, everything is clear and everything is possible. They are not afraid to dream, and to yearn for everythng they would like to see happen to them in their lives...The Soul of the World is nourished by people's happiness and, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it."

When I read the above in the book "the Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho, my heart skipped 10 beats, then started back up again. Oh my GOD...what if I had a Personal Legend? I scratched my poofy little afro and thought really hard to myself. Well I must have one, everyone is born with a purpose. What if I finally really asked myself what it is I am good at, that makes other people feel good, and that makes my heart flutter. I'm all about the flutter honey. If my heart is singing to me and dancing around in my chest crazy like...that's a "YES" for me.

This is one of those books that I melted into and started dreaming even BIGGER than before. The idea that the Universe will support me when I follow my bliss was a notion I could not dare ignore. I have been experimenting with this Personal Legend thing and I will say...it is true. What excites me is creating art with the intention of love, healing, and beauty. Opportunities keep coming my way and I am no longer swimming up stream anymore (which was getting really difficult and painful). It doesn't mean I do not have my challenges and lessons, but I am living on purpose with a purpose and that's why when you see me walkin' down the street I've got a little skip in my walk. Holla at ya girl!

It took quite a while for me to KNOW I was worth going for my dreams, worth being happy, worth success and money. It also took a huge amount of courage, that yummy kind of courage that is buried deep down in your soul that makes you feel like a damn Warrior Zena Goddess! If I create art and it's shit and nobody likes it, wtf? Oh well, that's part of my path. I love my art, I love the process of taking a white canvas and then making it so pretty, colorful and shiny that I want to eat it like a piece of candy. It's 100% human to want approval, love, and support. But when you are on your hero's path, you may not get those things all of the time or at all. That's when you MUST pull them up from within you. They already exist, inside of you. So please, do the damn thing you know you are here to do. Just start somewhere, 10 minutes a day. Trust me it will grow into more time but baby steps are gentle and the perfect way to start.

Here's your homework assignment. Please answer the following three questions:
1. What is YOUR personal legend?
2. What are you going to DO about it?
3. Are you aware of how powerful and beautiful you are?
